Three More Militants Killed in Zhob Border Security Sweep
Security forces in Balochistan’s Zhob district have killed three militants in the latest phase of an ongoing anti-infiltration push along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier, the military confirmed on Tuesday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the latest clash occurred during a targeted clearance operation near Sambaza on the night between August 10 and 11. Troops engaged the armed men, described by the ISPR as “Indian-sponsored khawarij,” and recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from their possession.
The operation is part of a wider campaign launched on August 7 to block cross-border militant movement into Pakistan. Over the past four days, security forces say they have eliminated 50 militants attempting to infiltrate through the rugged border terrain.
Military officials have repeatedly stressed that such cross-border infiltration attempts often involve fighters linked to groups hostile to Pakistan, with weapons and supplies allegedly sourced from across the frontier. The area around Zhob has seen periodic spikes in militant activity, given its difficult terrain and proximity to smuggling and militant routes.
