Gold became more expensive in Pakistan on Tuesday as local prices followed a modest rally in the international market.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported that the price of gold jumped by Rs. 900 per tola, bringing it to Rs. 360,700. A day earlier, it was Rs. 359,800. Prices for 10 grams of gold also saw an uptick of Rs. 772, now standing at Rs. 309,242.
On the global front, gold traded at $3,380 per ounce, which includes a $20 premium, marking a $9 increase compared to the previous session.
Silver prices, however, showed no movement and remained at Rs. 4,121 per tola.
The latest spike comes as investors worldwide continue to lean on gold as a hedge against economic uncertainty, with currency fluctuations and inflationary pressures keeping demand steady.
