The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Elementary and Secondary Education Department has put an immediate stop to all teacher transfers and postings, a restriction that came into effect on September 10.
The decision, officials explained, is tied to the reopening of schools after the summer break. Authorities argue that moving teachers around at this point would disrupt the learning process just as students are settling back into routine.
No Exceptions Outside Annual Window
Under the new directive, teachers from every cadre have been told not to forward transfer requests to the education minister’s office or the provincial secretariat. Any attempt to bypass the rule could lead to disciplinary action.
The ban will stay in place until the designated transfer period next year, which, according to policy, is limited to summer vacations and processed solely through the province’s e-transfer system. This digital system was introduced to make postings more transparent and to minimize political or personal influence in staff reshuffling.
Call for Focus on Students
Education Minister officials urged teachers to channel their energy into academic work, underscoring that uninterrupted classroom activity must remain the province’s top priority. With the new school year underway, authorities say stability in teaching staff is crucial to maintaining learning standards.
