ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court once again lashed out at FC top brass and summoned acting inspector general of the agency to appear before it on December 10 in case pertaining to missing persons case, Pakistan Tribune reported on Monday.
A three-member Supreme Court bench is hearing case related with forced disappearances, which has become a common phenomenon in insurgency hit areas. During today’s hearing, bench was informed that IG FC could not come to the court due to medical issues.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry seized opportunity to warn defense authorities that he will ensure that case should move in right direction even after he retires.
“No one should be under the illusion that the case will end as soon as I retire,” CJP said.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also appeared before the court to present the government’s view to the bench. Hearing his response, Justice Chaudhry observed that Prime Minister is fully involved in missing persons case but is not ready to cooperate with the bench. He further added that Court never allow continuation of unlawful activities on the name National Security and will definitely put an end to all such activities once and forever.
