Pakistan’s biggest-ever music reality show Pakistan Idol will be aired on Geo Television later this year.
The mass auditions for the show have got underway from Karachi. The age of the aspirants to partake in the auditions should be between 15 to 30 years.
Pakistan Idols aspires to discover the most exceptional unsigned solo recording artists of the country and bring them on mainstream. Through auditions, a panel will select a group of finalists, who will proceed to the weekly live shows. The finalists will then have to appeal the television audience for votes and contestants will minimum number of votes will be out of contention.
At grand finale of the show two or three finalists will encounter and the contestant who will receive the largest percentage of votes will be adjudged winner. The winner will be awarded a hefty amount of prize money, and recording contract in addition to the title of Pakistan Idol.
The maiden audition for the show was held in a private shopping mall of Karachi, where a large number of people participated and hailed Geo Television for introducing new talent in the Pakistan’s music industry and providing young generation a platform to demonstrate their competency and flair.
Geo Television is launching Pakistan Idol in association with Fremantle Media, an international television content and production subsidiary of Europe’s leading entertainment company RTL Group.
Television’s biggest ‘Star’ maker reality show has arrived in Pakistan after enthralling a gigantic 6.5 billion viewers in more than 150 countries across the globe for over a decade.
The show was initially broadcasted as the British television series Pop Idol in 2001. Poland was first to adopt the Idols. American Idol was begin in 2002 and has since successfully completed 13 seasons. The highly-rated show made inroads to India in 2004 and till now its six seasons have been aired from Sony TV.
