MQM to Sue Delcan Walsh, NYT for Defaming Altaf

KARACHI: Coordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has out-rightly rejected and condemned the news report published in leading American newspaper, the New York Times, regarding their chief Altaf Hussain.

In a statement issued here, the members of MQM Coordination Committee termed the report as baseless, false, ridiculous and provocative. Statement further added that report has been written by Delcan Walsh, a journalist of compromised reputation. Delcan was declared as undesirable person by Pakistan and was asked to leave the country few months back.

MQM Coordination Committee alleged that language used in news report is not at par with journalistic standards and is aimed at character assassination of MQM chief Altaf Hussein. Committee announced to drag both Delcan Walsh and The New York Times (NYT) in the court over defamation as they have attempted to damage the ‘reputation’ of MQM chief.
