Monsoon Floods Affected Over 1.5 Million in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Statistics released by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) shows that over 1.5 million lives are affected by flash floods and heavy monsoon rains across Pakistan. Nearly 178 people lost their lives in rain related incidents and another 855 wounded. Major incidents include roof collapse and electrocution.

Monsoon rains has destroyed 20, 312 dynasties and affected 5,615 villages.

“At least 178 people have died and 1,503,492 others affected by recent monsoon rains and floods across Pakistan,” a senior NDMA official told media on Sunday.

More rains are expected next month.
