Police authorities in in London have confirmed to BBC Urdu that Altaf Hussain, chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is under investigation for criminal activities like money laundering and inciting violence in Pakistan. MQM is a sizable political party in Pakistan which controls Karachi, largest metropolitan city of Pakistan and is being controlled by a British Citizen Altaf Hussain from London.
In a BBC program “Newsnight” telecasted on Wednesday it was claimed that police recovered nearly 400,000 British pounds in a raid conducted on Altaf Hussain’s residence and MQM international secretariat in connection with Dr. Imran Farooq murder case.
Apart from money laundering and Imran Farooq murder case, Metropolitan Police is also investigating that if Altaf Hussain has used British soil to instigate violence in Pakistan.
Metropolitan Police received a huge number of complaints that a British Citizen (Altaf Hussain) is using British resources to incite violence in Pakistan during general elections held on May 11, 2013.
MQM has always denied allegations and has maintained that international conspiracy is being hatched against them for just being representatives of poor Pakistanis.
