Treason Case: Four-member committee formed to interrogate Musharraf

The government has constituted a four-member of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) interrogate former president, General (retd) Pervez Musharraf under article 6 of the constitution.

The committee comprises two additional director generals and two directors. They included Additional DG FIA Khalid Qureshi, Maqsood-ul-Hassan, Hussain Asghar and Azam Khan.

The committee has been directed to complete and submit its report as soon as possible. .

The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar told in national assembly that the decision to constitute committee was made in the light of 1973 constitution and 1974 act. He said that the committee will present its report to the interior ministry after completing the investigation.

The interior minister said that only Pervez Musharraf is responsible for the actions of November 3, 2007. He said that the former military ruler enjoyed the power for eight years and now he is willing to sue to the entire army in the dock but the government won’t allow him to disgrace the honour of army.
