SNGPL Cuts Gas Supply of PM House, Parliament

Lahore: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has cut gas connections of major government offices capital including Prime Minister House, Parliament House, Parliament Lodges, Federal Sharit Court and Governor House Murree over non-payment of dues, Pakistan Tribune reported on Monday.

According to SNGPL spokesman, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat has outstanding dues of Rs 40, 70,000, Parliament House RS 10, 30,000, Parliament Lodges Rs 7, 70,000, Federal Shariat Court 2, 24, 000 and Governor House Murree Rs 88,000.

The spokesperson said that all the defaulters had been sent notifications several times but they didn’t respond after which SNGPL had no option but to cut gas connections.

It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while chairing a high-level meeting last week, had directed the concerned authorities to take stern action against electricity and gas bill defaulters and recover outstanding dues without any discrimination.
