India have won the toss and elected to field against Bangladesh in their opening game of Asia Cup at Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.
Bangladesh beat India in the last edition of the competition and will aim to repeat the feat.
India are entering into the contest on the back of series losses to New Zealand and South Africa while Bangladesh suffered a 0-3 loss at the hands of Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded home ODI series.
India will be led by Virat Kohli as regular skipper MS Dhoni was ruled out of the competition after sustaining side strain.
Bangladesh suffered doubles setback ahead of the event, with BCB handing three-match ban to all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan for making inappropriate gesture on live TV and explosive opener Tamim Iqbal ruling out of the event after surfacing neck strain.
